Promoting science Islamabad to host OIC summit

Over a dozen heads of states are expected to attend the Summit

The government of Pakistan and COMSTECH would host the first ever Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Summit on Science and Technology this month (November) in Islamabad. Over a dozen heads of states are expected to attend the Summit, said COMSTECH Coordinator General Dr Shaukat Hameed Khan. He said preparations were in full swing for the summit. The OIC Standing Committee on Science and Technology has prepared a major document for 57-member countries elaborating programmes and priority areas in science and technology as well as joint programmes for next 10 years, he said. He said he has held meetings with ambassadors of 25 OIC countries in successive groups during last two week and discussed with them agenda of the meetings.
