Week-on-week: SPI rises 0.28%

Compared to the corresponding week of last year, the SPI for the combined income group rose 1.12%

ISLAMABAD:
The Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI) for the week ended October 29 registered an increase of 0.28% over the previous week for the lowest income group. The SPI for the group stood at 209.44 points against 208.85 in the previous week, according to provisional figures released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics. The SPI for the combined income group rose 0.26% from 216.75 points in the previous week to 217.31 in the week under review. Compared to the corresponding week of last year, the SPI for the combined income group rose 1.12%. During the week, average prices of 15 items fell in a selected basket of goods, prices of 11 items rose and rates of remaining 27 goods recorded no change.
