LG polls: ECP delays polling in several UCs

            The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday deferred local government elections in six union councils (UCs) of Chakwal and Attock each, while polls in some UCs of Gujrat and Lodhran were also deferred in line with orders from the Rawalpindi and Multan benches of the Lahore High Court. According to the notification, elections were deferred in UC numbers 15, 24, 25, 33, 36, 37 of Chakwal; and UC numbers 35, 36, 57, 58, 63, 64 of Attock. District Returning Officer Mehmood Javed Bhatti said the ECP postponed the elections scheduled for October 31 in the UCs of Chakwal, including Saloee, Dandot, Maingan, Balokasar and Laharr Sultan Pur. He said that no polling staff or material will be dispatched to stations in these five UCs.
