MUZAFFARABAD:
The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) government on Thursday condemned British lawmakers for tabling a motion in the House of Commons on alleged rights violations in Pakistan-administered Kashmir.
AJK Minister for Rehabilitation and Population Welfare Abdul Majid Khan said Conservative Member of Parliament (MP) Bob Blackman and eight other parliamentarians including Labour Party chief and Leader of the Opposition MP Jeremy Corbyn tried to hoodwink the house while tabling a motion at the behest of India.
“The motion was tabled by Bob Blackman with the consultation of Virendra Sharma of Labour Party on special instructions of the Indian military establishment to hide their sins in the Indian Occupied Kashmir,” the minister claimed.
Khan said the motion contains baseless charges against Pakistan, AJK government and Pakistani security agencies.
He said there are no unmarked graves in any district of AJK, nor have thousands of people disappeared, while in Indian-Occupied Kashmir, there are hundreds of unmarked graveyards and thousands of disappeared people. The minister further said that there was a military mechanism introduced by New Delhi to crush the ongoing liberation movement in the Indian-administered Kashmir. The UK lawmakers, he said, should highlight “Indian state terrorism” instead.
“There are no systematic human rights violations , cross border terrorism and acts of genocide as were levelled against the government of Pakistan by UK lawmakers through Early Day Motion 393 on the instructions of Indian secret agency RAW,” Khan said.
He said the European Union had described Indian-administered Kashmir as “a beautiful prison”.
“There is no any bunker, barrier , story of identification parade and any black law as Indian government has given in shape of Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) to its forces in Indian Occupied Kashmir to kill the innocent Kashmiris who are demanding their right of self-determination approved by the world community under the banner of United Nations.
“Indian forces have continuously been violating the ceasefire on the Line of Control (LoC) and the Working Boundary,” the minister said.
