Eye hospital appeals for assistance

The Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital, on Tuesday, appealed for more donations and contributions so as to assist more people in prevention of blindness. The trust’s president Lt Gen (retd) Hamid Javaid said they provide free treatment worth Rs800m annually. Around 0.25m people are provided medical assistance through free eye camps, while around 0.30m are treated in hospitals and another 0.15m children treated in schools, he said. He further informed that a plan has been devised to raise resources, to provide free health services to more people without compromising treatment quality, said a press release.
