Busted : Six fined Rs90,000 for poaching falcon, hogdeer
Wildlife director urges raiding teams to accelerate efforts

Six people have been fined Rs90,000 under Section 38 of Wildlife Act (restrictions on hunting) for poaching falcons and hogdeer in Gujranwala division.
Special raiding teams, constituted by Wildlife Director General Khalid Ayaz, have fined Ameer Hamza and Muhammad Basharat Rs20,000 each for hunting illegally at Bajwat Game Reserve in Sialkot district.
Akbar Khan, Hanif and Muhammad Rafique were fined Rs10,000 for poaching falcon in the riverine area of Head Khanki in Gujrat district.
Action was also taken against Muhammad Ajmal, son of Muhammad Anwar, for hunting hogdeer.
District authorities had stumbled upon a Facebook post in which Ajmal had boasted about his hunting expedition.
Authorities collected evidence against him from the Zafarwal hunting site in Narowal district. He confessed to the hunt during interrogation and was fined Rs20,000.
Ayaz directed raiding teams to accelerate their campaign against poachers. He also announced commendatory certificates for the teams.
Speaking to the media, he said the department was vigilant and teams had been formed to check illegal hunting.
