Municipal politics: Sher Ali assures Shahbaz of his support

Says he has shared his reservations about the law minister

FAISALABAD: Former Faisalabad mayor Chaudhry Sher Ali on Monday assured Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif of his support in the affairs of the district, including the upcoming election for the mayor’s office.

He expressed confidence in the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leaders and said that he would respect all their decisions.

Sher Ali called upon the chief minister during a visit to Lahore. Speaking with The Express Tribune before leaving the city, he said the meeting had been arranged on a directive of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. He said he had shared reservations about Law Minister Rana Sanaullah with the chief minister.

State Minister Abid Sher Ali and National Assembly member Hamza Shahbaz were also present on the occasion.

Sher Ali and his supporters have fielded candidates in the upcoming local government election in the city from the Mayor Group platform. They are contesting on the symbol of bucket from 123 of the 157 UCs in the municipal corporation.
