KARACHI:

Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) President Zahid Saeed has urged the Sindh government to resolve infrastructural problems faced by the industries on a priority basis.

The provincial government allocated Rs1.13 billion for fiscal year of 2008-09 to resolve infrastructural problems of Karachi, Hyderabad, Nooriabad, Sukkur and other industrial areas of the province. But if we only consider ground realties in Karachi, we can say that Sindh government is constantly ignoring the development of industries, Saeed said in a statement on Monday.

Saeed said that the industrial zones in Karachi are facing rough roads and other difficulties. It is time for both federal and provincial governments to ensure long lasting strategies are implemented with the consultation of industrialist and business community. He suggested that the provincial government should consider removing the burden of provincial taxes.
