Corporate results: Atlas Battery’s earnings get a boost
The earnings were driven by a double-digit volumetric growth

Riding on the back of a strong volumetric growth, Atlas Battery boosted its earnings by more than half in the quarter ended September 30, 2015, according to a notice sent to the Karachi Stock Exchange on Monday.
The maker of Atlas Genzo Shmadzu (AGS) battery range, which is used in automobiles and heavy machinery (earth-moving equipment), reported an after-tax profit of Rs252 million or Rs14.5 per share during the quarter, up 60% compared to Rs157 million or Rs9 per share in the same quarter last year.
The earnings were driven by a double-digit volumetric growth. The company’s revenues for the period totalled Rs3.9 billion, up 15.7% compared to Rs3.3 billion in the corresponding period of 2014.
