KARACHI:

In an all-Pakistan final, Danish Atlas beat second seed Farhan Zaman 3-1 to clinch the $10,000 Life Time Fitness Chicago Open, being played in the US.

In a tightly contested match, Danish, who had earlier defeated top seed Andre Wagih Shoukry of Egypt in the semi-final, managed to win the first set.

Zaman then levelled the contest with a win in the second set, but Danish proved too hot to handle and recorded back-to-back wins in the third and fourth sets to triumph 11-7, 9-11, 11-7, 11-5.

“It was a very close encounter and I’m happy that I came out on top,” said Danish.
