It’s winter: Rain brings down mercury

According to Met Office, 66mm to 112mm rainfall was recorded in Islamabad

The mercury dropped considerably on Sunday after the city received 4mm of rain. Light rain was also reported in other parts of the province and in Northern Areas.



The Pakistan Metrological Department (PMD) has forecast scattered rain-thunderstorm along with gusty winds in Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat and Mardan, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha and Faisalabad Divisions, and in the FATA, Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.

Snowfall is expected over the hills in Malakand and Hazara Divisions, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir. The department has issued a landslide warning for Malakand, Hazara, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

According to Met Office, 66mm to 112mm rainfall was recorded in Islamabad, 72mm to 100mm in Rawalpindi, 85mm in Kakul, 79mm in Balakot, 74mm in Murree, 73mm in Garhi Dupatta, 71mm in Muzaffarabad, 70mm in Kamra, 62mm in Rawalakot, 44mm in Risalpur, 31mm in Kalam, 29mm in Saidu Sharif, 20mm in Peshawar, 13mm each in Dera Ghazi Khan, Faisalabad, Jhelum and Chakwal, 12mm in Kot Addu, 10mm each in Layyah, Toba Tek Singh and Jhang, 8mm in Multan, 6mm in Gujrat, 5mm in Sargodha and 2mm in Gujranwala.
