Earlier on Tuesday, a case had been registered against the police officer’s son for his alleged involvement in a road accident that left a TV employee dead. On his way home from work, 24-four-year-old Rana Bilal, a non-linear editor for a TV channel, stopped his motorcycle at a traffic signal at Shadiwal Chowk in Lahore.

According to eyewitnesses, a speeding car had hit Bilal from the rear side, but instead of stopping, the driver of the car sped off. They said the victim and his vehicle were dragged along the greenbelt for around 100 metres. Satto Katla police registered an FIR against the 15-year-old son of Lower Mall DSP Naveed Irshad, over the incident.
