Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said on Wednesday the network of terrorists in Pakistan has been destroyed.
“Pakistan gave many sacrifices in the war against terrorism and the government is committed to root out terrorism from the country,” PM Nawaz said, while addressing the Pakistan-American community in Washington.
Asking all stake holders to join hands in the development and progress of the country, PM Nawaz said 3,600MW electricity is to be added in the national grid by 2017 in order to overcome the energy crisis, Radio Pakistan reported.

"While international institutions are acknowledging government's steps for the revival of the economy, transparency remains the top priority in energy projects," he said.
"Pakistan and China are constructing Gwadar port together while the government has also signed agreement with Russia for the gas pipeline project," he said, while adding the government has launched a package of Rs341 billion to facilitate farmers.

CPEC- a window of opportunity for Pakistan
Further, during the visit, PM Nawaz is likely to hold discussions on wide-ranging areas of bilateral interest with President Barack Obama, Vice President Joe Biden along with various Cabinet members.
In these meetings, both sides are expected to review the current state of Pakistan-US relations and identify new areas for future bilateral cooperation to further expand and enrich the partnership.
According to reports, Premier Nawaz will also attend a business event organised by US-Pakistan Business Council in Washington DC where he will address the United States Institute of Peace.
