Electing a speaker: NA session likely on November 6

An official in Parliament House said the session was delayed because of Muharram and local government elections

ISLAMABAD:
Political groupings have 10 or so more days to prepare for the election of a lower house speaker as the government has further delayed the National Assembly session. Though the session was originally scheduled to begin on October 26, it will now be convened on November 6. An official in Parliament House said the session was delayed because of Muharram and local government elections in Punjab. So far, no political party has announced any candidate for the slot of speaker. Many believe that Ayaz Sadiq, who was unseated by an election tribunal, would succeed in regaining his seat back with a thumping majority.
