Pat on the back: ‘Around 600 criminals held this year’

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Police have arrested around 588 criminals, including those involved in heinous crime, since January and have recovered valuables worth Rs71.4 million from their possession. Giving a crime roundup at the CIA Headquarters, SSP Operations Sajid Kiani claimed the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of the police has achieved significant success against criminals so far this year. He said a number of SIU teams have successfully traced criminals involved in heinous crimes during the current year. The teams also recovered a number of stolen cars, motorcycles, and weapons Later, the SSP handed over the looted valuables to their owners who thanked the police for tracing and returning their looted valuables and property.
