Transplantation Society of Pakistan holds emergency meeting at SIUT to take notice of commercial transplantation.

The Transplantation Society of Pakistan held an emergency general body meeting at Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation on Friday to take notice of the growing number of unrelated commercial transplantation in Pakistan.
A large number of foreign patients are travelling to Pakistan for kidney transplantations from paid donors. The Human Organ Transplant Authority, which was tasked with monitoring transplantation in the country, has totally failed to curb the growing tourism, said a press release.
A Saudi national died soon after having an illegal transplant in Pakistan. In another case, an Omani woman recently died in a private residence went to an improvised transplant facility in Valencia Town, Lahore. press release
