Law and order: CM orders tight security for Muharram
The chief minister called for stringent security measures along the routes of processions

Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif directed the Cabinet Committee on Law and Order on Friday to effectively enforce the security strategy devised for Muharram. He ordered that the ban on display of weapons be strictly enforced. The chief minister called for stringent security measures along the routes of processions. He said appropriate action should be taken against those promoting sectarianism through wall-chalking and loudspeakers. Separately, a delegation from a Chinese company called on the chief minister on Friday and expressed willingness to invest in energy, infrastructure and potable water projects. Communication and Works and Housing Minister Tanvir Aslam Malik was also present on the occasion.
