Week-on-week: SPI falls 0.17%

Compared to the corresponding week of last year, the SPI for the combined income group rose 0.01%

ISLAMABAD:
The Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI) for the week ended October 15 registered a decrease of 0.17% over the previous week for the lowest income group. The SPI for the group stood at 208.68 points against 209.03 in the previous week, according to provisional figures released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics. The SPI for the combined income group fell 0.23% from 217.11 points in the previous week to 216.60 in the week under review. Compared to the corresponding week of last year, the SPI for the combined income group rose 0.01%. During the week, average prices of 13 items fell in a selected basket of goods, prices of 16 items rose and rates of the remaining 24 goods recorded no change.
