In The Aftermath: Swiss ambassador visits Kalash
The meeting was attended by a large number of ambassadors from various countries
CHITRAL:
Swiss Ambassador to Pakistan Marc George visited the flood-affected areas of Kalash on Friday morning. Speaking at a conference, he lauded the sense of unity and brotherhood that he has witnessed in Chitral during his trip. The meeting was attended by a large number of ambassadors from various countries. “The rest of the world can learn a valuable lesson from the sense of fraternity in Chitral,” he added. Ayun and Valleys Development Programme (AVDP) Manager Wazirzada informed participants about the damage and destruction triggered by the deadly floods that swept through the region earlier this year. Citing a report on the damage caused by flood, Wazirzada said Chitral – especially Kalash – has been completely destroyed. “Unless a series of precautions are taken, the area is prone to further damage in the future.”
