FAISALABAD:
A teenage girl committed suicide after arguing with her mother about lack of food on Thursday. The Samanabad SHO said the girl, a resident of Nawabanwala, had swallowed poison.  She was taken to a hospital where she breathed her last. He said she had apparently quarrelled with her mother over food. Her neighbour Anwar Rafiq told The Express Tribune that the girl’s family was very poor. “They used to quarrel about money all the time.” He said their family had been hard-pressed for food for two days. On Thursday, the girl shouted at her mother for not giving them food and then swallowed poison. She fainted and was taken to a hospital where she died. Police said they had seized the body and had sent it for post-mortem examination.
