Kidnapped girls’ case: ‘Protect the rights of the people of Balochistan’
The incident has taken place only because of the girls' Baloch ethnicity, BNF leader said
The families of the victims and the girls have no affiliation with any separatist organisation, but the incident has taken place because of their Baloch ethnicity, BNP leader said.
KARACHI:
Activists of the Baloch National Front (BNF) appealed to human rights organisations on Thursday, to take notice of atrocities being committed, especially against women in Balochistan.
Addressing a press conference at Karachi Press Club, BNF leader Mah Rang said that the same elements, who have always tried to suppress women in Balochistan by throwing acid on them and killing innocent people, were involved in kidnapping three Baloch girls. The girls were abducted from Bhangoria Goth in Azizabad on September 7 this year.
"The parents of these three girls were informed that some people have kidnapped and taken away their daughters to rural Sindh but we believe that this act is aimed to create fear among Baloch people, and especially the women to give up their struggle," Rang said referring to a number of incidents in which Baloch girls were targeted. "This is very unfortunate that society and media is tight-lipped on these issues," she said, adding that their loved ones were being kidnapped and their disfigured bodies were thrown, but no one takes notice of it.
BNF leader said that the people living in Balochistan respect women and girls. "The families of the victims and the girls have no affiliation with any separatist organisation, but the incident has taken place because of their Baloch ethnicity," she said.
