Metro bus loss: Traders demand early compensation
Traders also said that the Capital Development Authority had announced to build parking plazas in Blue Area
ISLAMABAD:
Traders of Blue Area on Tuesday urged the government speed up its compensation package for business losses they incurred during the construction of the Metro Bus Service (MBS) in Islamabad. Addressing traders, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Atif Ikram Sheikh said during the construction of the metro bus, traders of Blue Area, Peshawar Mor and other areas incurred huge losses, but they have not been compensated as yet, which was regrettable. He said the Punjab government had provided tax relief to affected traders on Murree Road in Rawalpindi but the federal government has not yet provided any such relief to the traders of Islamabad. Traders also said that the Capital Development Authority had announced to build parking plazas in Blue Area, but so far not a single one has been built.
