PESHAWAR:

The ceremony for Qaumi Watan Party  MPAs to take oath as ministers was postponed from Monday (today) to a later date. This was due to the absence of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa governor who was admitted to a private hospital in Islamabad.

QWP K-P president Sikandar Sherpao and General Secretary Anisa Zeb Tahirkheli are the representatives who will be taking oath. However, the governor’s health problems meant the ceremony could not be held. The date for the oath-taking ceremony will be announced later.

Governor Sardar Mehtab Ahmad Khan was rushed to a hospital after he complained of chest pains. Mehtab was in Islamabad at the time.

Initial tests revealed the governor’s pacemaker was not working properly. He was taken into surgery at a private hospital in which his pacemaker was replaced.
