LAHORE:

Communities cannot get stronger unless issues related to health and nutrition are resolved, expert speakers at a consultative seminar on Friday arranged by the UK government’s Department for International Development (DFID) said.

Empowerment Voice and Accountability by Better Health and Nutrition (EVA-BHN) project was launched at the event.

Dr Akhtar Rasheed, the project’s provincial manager, briefed the participants about its activities.

“EVA-BHN is a citizen-centric intervention to enable people to play an active role in the governance of the health system through proactive engagement. It aims to mobilise citizens, take stock of health services available at local level and engage through evolving a charter of demands at district and provincial levels,” he said.
