Crime round up: Man accused of killing nephew, his wife

SWABI: A resident of Maira, Chota Lahor, in Swabi has been accused of killing his nephew and his wife on Friday night. Faqir Shah, a resident of Mathra, Dagai told the Chota Lahor police his son Farooq Shah had gone to his maternal uncle’s house on Friday to help work his fields. Faqir said later that night the uncle killed Farooq and his wife inside the house. The complainant told the police his family had a dispute with the accused. Chota Lahor police registered an FIR and started investigation. Meanwhile, Swabi police arrested 43 suspects in a crackdown against anti-social elements in various areas of the district. A press release issued from the office of the Swabi DPO stated police teams from different stations swept their respective areas on the directives of DPO Javed Iqbal Khan. The 43 people arrested included three proclaimed offenders. Police officers also seized a large cache of drugs from their possession.
