Pre-emptive action: PPP MNA gets protective bail

The court granted the bail against a surety of Rs500,000

HYDERABAD:
Pakistan Peoples Party MNA Pir Noor Muhammad Shah Jeelani obtained on Friday protective bail from the Sindh High Court fearing arrest by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). According to Jeelani ‘s counsel Advocate Zamir Ghumro, NAB has initiated an inquiry against Jeelani’s alleged misuse of authority as the head of Tharparkar’s district development committee. The court granted the bail against a surety of Rs500,000 and put the chairperson and director-general of NAB, Sindh chief secretary and other respondents on notice for November 3.
