LAHORE:

Lahore High Court sought a reply on Thursday from the home secretary and the Lahore DCO on a contempt of court petition filed by the Falah-i-Insaniat Foundation. The foundation had moved the court against the DCO over collection of hides of sacrificial animals on Eid.

Advocate AK Dogar, counsel for the Falah-i-Insaniat Foundation, submitted that the officials concerned had not complied with the court order. He said the organisation was a welfare body and that it had not been involved in any kind of terrorism.

A law officer had admitted before the court that the foundation was not a terrorist organisation. The foundation had not been given an NOC to collect hides in a violation of court orders.

“The foundation is also being stopped from carrying out its welfare activities,” Dogar said. He requested the court to initiate contempt of court proceedings against the officials.
