Woman attacked for demanding maintenance for kids
SHO says they have not received a formal complaint so far

A man slashed his wife’s throat on Wednesday for demanding maintenance allowance for her children, Chiniot police told journalists.
The SHO said Salma Bibi had been married to Muhammad Hussain, a resident of Darbar Sakhi Abdul Wahhab Mohalla on the Jhang-Chiniot Road, and they had five children. He said Salma Bibi had demanded money to meet their children’s expenses.
He said that Hussain had attacked his wife with a sharp-edged tool and slashed her throat.
He said Salma Bibi was taken to the Chiniot district headquarters hospital from where she was referred to the Allied Hospital, Faisalabad.
Dr Asad Ali, on duty at the Emergency Ward in Allied Hospital, said Salma Bibi was being treated in intensive care unit. He said her condition was serious.
The Chiniot SHO said they had not received a formal complaint yet and had not registered a case.
