PML-N collects funds from aspiring candidates for local body elections

PML-N has collected Rs13.2 million from aspiring candidates for local body elections in Faisalabad district

The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has collected Rs13.2 million from aspiring candidates for local body elections in Faisalabad district.


PML-N spokesman Anwar Gulzar told The Express Tribune this week that around 4,100 candidates had submitted applications for tickets to seats in 346 union councils and 122 wards in rural and urban areas of district Faisalabad. He said Rs13.2 million had been collected from them.  He said Rs1.944 million had been collected from NA-78 where 576 applications for the seats of chairmen and councillors had been received. He said places where the PML-N had received application for more than one panel were kept open. The minimum number of applications was recorded from NA-79 where 214 applications for party tickets were received and Rs747,000 was collected.

He said 400 applications were received from NA-80 and Rs1.35 million was collected from there. Rs1.296 million was collected from NA-81, Rs1.215 million from NA-77, Rs1.269 million from NA-85, Rs1.153 million from NA-82, Rs1.026 million from NA-83, Rs972,000  from NA-84, Rs945,000 from NA-75 and Rs756,000/ was collected from NA-76, he said.
