Speeding vehicle: Boy crushed to death in Swat

A large number of people blocked the road and demanded that the police arrest the driver

A boy was crushed to death by a speeding truck in Rahimabad area of Swat district on Tuesday.


An official of Rahimabad police told The Express Tribune eight-year-old Sanaullah was on his way home from school when the incident occurred. He was initially wounded and rushed to Saidu Teaching Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.



Following the incident, locals tried to catch the truck driver but he managed to escape.


“A large number of people blocked the road and demanded that the police arrest the driver,” he said.


“They protested for 30 minutes and dispersed shortly after we assured them that a case had been registered against the incident.”


Separately, a man was shot and injured on the outskirts of Mingora.


An official of Banrh  police told The Express Tribune that Pervaiz, a resident of Shah Dheri area of Kabal tehsil, was on his way home from Mingora Bazaar when two men opened fire on his vehicle.
