PESHAWAR: The body of a woman believed to be in her thirties was found in a canal in Sardar Garhi, within the jurisdiction of Chamkani police station on Sunday. Police said the remains were found stuffed in a gunny bag and it seemed the victim had been strangled to death. The killer later threw acid on her face so that she could not be identified and dumped the remains in a canal. “She looks like she might be 30 and it is very difficult to establish whether she is a local or an Afghan,” said a Chamkani policeman. He added the body was sent for an autopsy and an FIR of the case was registered.
