KARACHI:

Concrete measures to ensure the removal of provocative wall chalking and distribution of hate speech pamphlets, CDs, audio and video cassettes will be implemented, said Sindh IG Ghulam Haider Jamali.

He was addressing a meeting on Saturday regarding the security arrangements during Muharram held at the Central Police Office. During the Muharram processions, only those vehicles will be allowed that carry special stickers issued after complete scrutiny, he said. The SHOs must deploy police force at imambarghas, majalis, processions and mosques in their respective jurisdictions, he ordered.

The SSPs will be responsible for personally looking after the security arrangements, he claimed.

No dereliction in this regard will be, warned Jamali. The Rapid Response Force should be put on alert along with police commandos, CID and Special Branch officers in case of emergencies.
