Elections: Campaign for District Bar Association polls begins

The annual elections of Daska and Pasrur bar associations will be held on January 8, 2011.

SIALKOT: Campaigning for the annual elections of all three Sialkot bar associations have begun. The District Bar Association (DBA) elections will include participants from the Sargodha, Daska and Pasrur tehsil bar’s.

The annual elections of Daska and Pasrur bar associations will be held on January 8, 2011and the elections of the Sialkot DBA are scheduled to be held on January 15, 2011.

Traditional rival groups have already begun locking horns over the election results and contestants have started sloganeering in their bid to secure a position in the upcoming polls.

In Daska, an intense contest is expected between leading candidates advocate Dilawar Hussain Goraya and advocate Muhammad Asif Bajwa

for the slot of president of the Daska Bar Association. A total of 425 members of the Daska Bar Association will cast their votes in the elections scheduled for January 8, 2011.

In Pasrur, a tough contest is expected between candidates Chaudhry Liaqat Ali Sial and Chaudhry Altaf Suhail who are in the race for the presidential slot.

A total of 204 members of the Pasrur Bar Association are expected to cast their votes in the upcoming polls scheduled to be held on January 8, 2011 in the district.
