Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief, Altaf Hussain was declared a proclaimed offender on Wednesday in a case pertaining to criminal intimidation.
The ATC-III judge Saleem Raza Baloch declared Altaf a proclaimed offender and issued lifetime warrant for his arrest until when the proceedings against him would be kept dormant.
MQM chief was booked for allegedly threatening Rangers officials during a TV talk show following a pre-dawn raid at his party’s headquarters, Nine Zero.
During Wednesday’s proceedings, the investigation officer filed a report, stating that the process of proclamation was complete, but Altaf’s property could not be attached since he did not own any in the country.
Meanwhile MQM held a demonstration outside the UN headquarters in New York on Wednesday, against extrajudicial killings and ban on Altaf Hussain’s speeches.
