Selection process: CM promises EOBI chairperson to be hired soon
Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah has promised that the chairperson for the Sindh Employees Old-age Benefit Institute (EOBI) will be hired soon.
Shah directed the chief secretary to send a panel of three names for the position at a meeting on Tuesday.
The provincial government, under the 18th Constitutional Amendment, will appoint the chairperson for EOBI. The CM also ordered the Labour department to notify the EOBI board of trustees. "This work has already been delayed and I want you to complete it within 20 days," he said to the chief secretary.
The chief minister directed the chief secretary to monitor the drafting of 31 laws, which are to be enacted to take over the functions of the federal government's devolved departments.
The decisions were taken in a meeting with the CM that was held to review the progress on the enactment of laws.
The chief minister will hold another meeting in next 15 days to check on the progress of the work.
