Ahsan Bari, the lead vocalist of the band, shared details about their upcoming performance. “We’ve changed the structure of our performance sets a little. Apart from the usual covers, we’ll also perform a few original tracks from our upcoming album. Plus, there are also a few experimental pieces, such as a percussive track and an A cappella single.”
The series of concerts have been organised by Salt Arts, an arts and entertainment agency. Bari stated that since they’re doing the show in collaboration with Salt Arts, they’ll have to keep their creative interests and vision in mind.
He said that Sounds of Kolachi usually trails a flexible line-up and will continue to do so following its previous formation, which saw guitar maestro Faraz Anwar and Coke Studio drummer Aahad Nayani join the ensemble.
In an earlier interview with The Express Tribune, Bari had spoken about how he wanted to turn the group’s concerts and performances into an audio-visual experience for the audiences, akin to that of Pink Floyd’s live shows. “We’re working on that side and, hopefully, will try to create something like that in the near future,” added Bari.
