The first episode of Priyanka Chopra's Quantico was aired this Sunday on ABC and it won the hearts of the audience. The critics, however, were not pleased.

In a recent interview with PTI, Priyanka revealed that she had doubts about signing the series too, but she couldn't resist the script: “I was a little skeptical initially bescause it’s a long commitment. I had to balance television and Hindi film. The script was incredible and I just couldn’t say no to it."

The Bollywood actress can finally lay her doubts to rest, as the new American TV series that marked her Hollywood debut received a thumbs up from twitteratis who couldn't stop raving about it after the premiere on Sunday.

It comes as no surprise that one of the most anticipated series of the year is set to become a great hit. Here is what twitteratis had to say about Quantico:

However, the critics were not pleased with the first episode of the new series. Some excerpts from the American media reviews show why Quantico failed to impress them:

"You should definitely give Quantico a look if you’re interested in a little mindless eye candy that has enough hooks of a larger mystery to possibly keep you entertained week to week. And by all means, if you’re a fan already of ABC series like How To Get Away With Murder (which Quantico borrows from heavily) and Scandal, you’ll be right at home with Quantico, which, in the future, will likely have plenty of Grey’s Anatomy sexy-time moments as well," says The Hollywood Reporter.

The NY Times termed it as a mesh up: "Homeland meets the Shonda Rhimes ouevre, with the ensemble casting and sexual tension of Grey's Anatomy plus the flashbacks and mentor-mentee dynamic of How to Get Away With Murder and the Olivia Pope-like family baggage of Scandal."

Whereas Variety believes the storyline is outdone, reporting: "Based on first impressions, Quantico seems to be stationed in a more mundane realm. The question now is whether the show can get away with it."

There was, however, one positive critic's review with People.com calling it a 'fun show': "It sounds trite, but who's to say that Quantico, which happens to be one of the few new network dramas with any real juice to it, isn't as sound a way as any to keep TV audiences mindful of the terrorist threat? There's no reason native soil can't be protected by a young, diverse cast who share a quality very familiar from other ABC hits."
