Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Chairperson Marvi Memon said on Sunday the Waseela Taleem programme would be launched soon in Dera Ghazi Khan division to ensure availability of educational facilities for the poor children. She said the programme had already been started in 32 districts across the country.
She was addressing a ceremony at New Vision School Choti-Zaireen.
Memon said the prime minister had a vision that every child should go to school. She said Rs250 was being given to each child under the programme.
She said a survey would be carried out to induct more women in the programme. “They will be registered in a transparent manner,” she said. “As many as 655,197 women are benefiting from the programme. Rs4,500 is provided to each woman after three months,” she said. Memon said the government was also providing interest-free loans to empower women.
