PESHAWAR: The remains of former provincial minister and senior leader of Awami National Party Arbab Mohammad Ayub Jan will arrive in Lahore from the United States in the early hours of Monday (today). Arbab’s funeral prayers will be held in Tarnab at 11am on the same day. City police tightened security in preparation for the funeral proceedings. Special squads of police have been deployed in and around Arbab’s hujra at Tarnab Farm. He will be buried in the graveyard with others from his kin. Arbab was visiting the United States when he died from a cardiac arrest last week. People from across the province have been visiting the hujra of Arbab Ayub Jan since Tuesday to offer their condolences to the grieving family. Arbab served as a minister in different provincial departments three times and was an MPA on six occasions.
