Election issue: Top court turns down PFF plea
Ejaz Afzal Khan remarked that they will not interfere in the matter at this stage
ISLAMABAD:
The Supreme Court on Monday refused to entertain the plea of Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) against a Lahore High Court’s (LHC) stay order on PFF annual elections which were supposed to be held in the first week of July. The three-judge bench of the apex court, headed by Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan remarked that they will not interfere in the matter at this stage because it will prejudice the proceedings in the LHC. Asma Jahangir appearing on behalf of PFF told the Supreme Court that the international body of football - FIFA - has not released funds to PFF for want of elected representatives.
