Behind bars: Police round up 33 suspects

More than 324kg hashish seized

Islamabad Police on Monday said to have arrested 33 suspects and recovered narcotics and weapons from them.

A police spokesperson said over 324 kg hashish, 30 litres of liquor, mobiles, cash and weapons were recovered from suspects in various incidents.

He said a team of Koral Police Station arrested 11 suspects for their involvement in “immoral activities”. The suspects were identified as Rafaqat, Adnan Masih, Sher Afzal, Irfan Ali, Rizwana bibi, Farzana bibi, Gulnar Banu, Alia bibi, Sani bibi, Nazi bibi and Farzana bibi.

The police spokesperson said a women police team arrested four suspects identified as Samara bibi, Mona bibi, Shanaz bibi and Sadir bibi in possession of a stolen car.

The Bhara Kahu police arrested a suspected drug pusher, Musrat Hussain Shah, in possession of three kg hashish while the Karachi Company police arrested a suspected bootlegger Waheed Masih with 30 litres of liquor.


CIA police arrested a suspect, Naeemul Hassan, with an unlicensed 30-bore pistol and ammunition. Another suspect, Asifur Rehman, was held after stolen valuables were recovered from him.

Tarnol police arrested two suspects, Jawad Ali and Muhammad Ahmed, with an unlicensed 30-bore pistol and two stolen mobile phones.

A Shalimar Police Station team arrested two suspects, Mohsin Raza and Sajid Rafique, in possession of three bottles of liquor and 320 kg hashish.

Shahzad Town police arrested seven suspects --- identified as Sajid Mehmood, Sibtain, Rafique, Altaf Hussain, Zeeshan, Zeenat Ali and Muhammad Zubair --- and recovered 1.3 kg hashish, two 30-bore unlicensed pistols, and three 12-bore guns from their possession.

Ramna police arrested an Afghan national, Abdullah, for illegally staying in the country. Meanwhile, two professional beggars were also arrested.
