KARACHI: Tents for any sort of occasion has been banned in Karachi. Karachi commissioner Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui announced on Saturday night that tents would not be allowed to be set up in any of Karachi’s streets for any purpose. He also forbade digging roads or making holes for posts to tether sacrificial animals. For this purpose Siddiqui has ordered the police to take appropriate action. Speaking to The Express Tribune, Siddiqui said the city’s roads have been adversely affected due to these holes. He admitted, however, that they could not enforce that law in one day. “This is an appeal to the people of Karachi, to make Karachi a better city,” he said, adding that they just wanted to raise civic sense among people.
