Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Khursheed Shah has appealed to the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) government to provide security to the family of a Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader, Najamuddin Khan.



Najamuddin’s son survived a deadly attack on Wednesday when gunmen opened fire on his convoy in Upper Dir. Najamuddin, who also served as a federal minister, is the vice president of the PPP’s provincial chapter.

In his letter to the K-P Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak, the leader of opposition asked him to extend full security to the PPP leader and his family.

“I would like to draw your attention to blatant gunfire attack on Rahmatullah Khan, son of ex-federal minister Najamuddin Khan. By the Grace of Allah, he remained safe during the incident as he was in a bulletproof vehicle,” Shah wrote to the chief minister. He also demanded that the culprits’ be apprehended and brought to justice.
