Drive-by shooting: Two killed in Karachi shrine attack

The dead victims were later identified as Khamiso and Sawan

KARACHI:
Gunmen attacked a Karachi shrine on Friday night, killing two and wounding four others, officials and witnesses said. According to them, the assailants who were riding motorbikes opened indiscriminate fire at the Zinda Pir shrine in the city’s Korangi neighbourhood. Extra law enforcers were dispatched to the scene of the crime soon after the incident. The deceased and the injured were moved to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for autopsy and medical treatment. The dead victims were later identified as Khamiso and Sawan. According to Korangi Police Station House Officer Shahjahan Lashari, the two were the regular visitors of the shrine. He said police have initiated further investigations.
