KARACHI:
Pakistan striker Kaleemullah has signed a two-year contract with the American Lycetuff Group to build a secondary school in Chaman by September 2016.

The Chaman-born player believes that the children in his hometown need quality education without them having to face the same problems that he did in his childhood.

After sealing his agreement with the Lycetuff Group, who already have 56 branches in Pakistan, the Sacramento Republic FC footballer said that it was his dream to give back to his neighbourhood in Chaman.

“I’m glad that the American Lycetuff School will help our children in Chaman,” Kaleemullah told The Express Tribune. “Growing up, we never had a quality educational institution and I understand its importance now that I see its impact in the US. Our youth really need a strong base in order to survive in the world outside.”

He added that it was his dream to see people from Chaman making a name for themselves.

The former FC Dordoi striker said that the agreement with the Lycetuff Group has motivated him to improve his game in his remaining time at the US League Club while looking for better opportunities at the same time.

Kaleemullah will be turning 23 on Sunday, and he feels that true recognition of an athlete comes when the youth get inspired by his journey. “I know we all play for ourselves, our clubs and our national side, but I always wanted to do enough to make sure that the children back home look up to me and benefit from me in some way,” he concluded.
