Information sharing: Navy hosts Indian Ocean symposium
This is the first time that Pakistan is hosting any activity of IONS
KARACHI:
The Indian Ocean Naval Symposium (IONS) Working Group activities, being hosted by Pakistan Navy, commenced here. A Pakistan Navy statement here on Tuesday said that the theme of the Working Group is “Information sharing and interoperability” amongst regional countries of Indian Ocean. It said that eight nations of Indian Ocean are being hosted by Pakistan Navy considering that information sharing & inter-operability amongst the countries of Indian Ocean Region is the need of the hour. Pakistan became a member of Indian Ocean Naval Symposium in March 2014. This is the first time that Pakistan is hosting any activity of IONS.
