Successful negotiations: Lawyers end protest
Decision comes after lawyers were assured that the FIR lodged against Advocate Salman Naeem has been taken back
KARACHI:
The lawyers fraternity announced on Tuesday that they will end their protest after receiving assurances that the FIR lodged against Advocate Salman Naeem under the anti-terrorism act for maltreating a judicial officer will be taken back. Earlier, the representatives of the provincial bar council and associations held a meeting with Sindh High Court Chief Justice Faisal Arab and senior puisne judge, Justice Sajjad Ali Shah. According to officials, Chief Justice Arab was concerned over the conduct of the lawyer who had maltreated the judicial officer and directed that the matter should be referred to the disciplinary committees of the Sindh Bar Council.
