IIUI Lecture: Speakers call on Ummah to unite as one
“A person who creates differences among Muslims on Sunni - Shia divides is an agent of imperialism.”
ISLAMABAD:
Unity among ranks and files of the Muslim Ummah is a must to cope with the challenges posed by destructive elements, according to Iran’s Presidential Adviser for Press Affairs Ali Akbar Javanfekr.
His remarks came while delivering a lecture at Islamic International University (IIU) on “The Role of Islamic Republic of Iran in the Muslim World Unity” organised by the university’s Iqbal International Institute for Research and Dialogue .
Javanfekr added that conspirators are creating differences among Muslims, whereas Muslims are one in faith. “The destructive elements are acting on a divide-and-rule policy to usurp the resources of the Muslim world,” he said. He added, since Imam Khomeni’s revolution, Iran played a big role in promoting unity among the Ummah.
Quoting Imam Khomeni, he said, “A person who creates differences among Muslims on Sunni - Shia divides is an agent of imperialism.”
