Swift not to dazzle in ‘X-Men: Apocalypse
Writer Simon Kinberg shoots down conjecture that singer is to make cameo in the film
TORONTO:
X-Men: Apocalypse writer Simon Kinberg has shot down rumours that Taylor Swift would make a cameo appearance as mutant Dazzler in the upcoming film. “No, there’s nothing to it. I know where [the rumours] came from because it’s my fault,” Kinberg said while promoting The Martian at the Toronto International Film Festival.
The rumours had emerged when Kinberg was photographed with the Bad Blood singer alongside other cast members, such as James McAvoy and Sophie Turner. “It was what I was listening to every morning to get sort of energised and I’d listen to it on the set every day for Apocalypse,” he explained.
When Swift’s tour came to Montreal, where X Men: Apocalypse was being filmed, Kinberg, McAvoy, Turner, Nicholas Hoult and Rose Byrne were excited and didn’t want to miss the concert. Kinberg admitted that he actually loved the idea of Swift appearing in the film. “After I saw those things I was like, ‘Oh, that’s kind of interesting, but no, we were actually just there for her concert,” he said.
