Leaving behind the likes of 2010 film Toy Story 3, American 3D computer-animated family comedy film Minions has become the second-highest grossing animated film of all time after Academy Award-winning 2013 film Frozen.

Co-directed by Kyle Balda and Pierre Coffin, Minions minted a whopping $20.1 million on its opening day in China, taking its worldwide box office to $1.08 billion and making it the 15th biggest film ever, reports ew.com.
With voice over of actors like Sandra Bullock, Jon Hamm and Michael Keaton, Minions has surpassed Toy Story 3, which earned $1.063 billion worldwide.
